The Mayor of Kapiti Coast's calling for more details from National's transport plan

The Mayor of Kapiti Coast's calling for more details from National's transport plan

National's announced a 330-million dollar transport plan for the Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua.

It includes extending Wellington's electric rail network to Otaki, completing the Horowhenua Expressway, and building an interchange at Peka Peka.

Kapiti Coast Mayor K Gurunathan says they've pushed for a rail extension for a long time, but the question remains - how quickly can it be done?

He says it's election time and both parties can promise a number of things, but it's the business case that will be convincing.
