Formosa Golf Resort in Beachlands pleaded guilty in the Environment Court to six charges under the Resource Management Act.
Judge David Kirkpatrick says he doesn't think the defendant intended to discharge waste to the creek, but problems with the system were not given priority.
Auckland mayor Phil Goff says the repeated acts of negligence seriously damaged Auckland's natural environment.
Formosa no longer owns the property and the waste system was fixed before the sale.
