Taranaki teachers say they feel they've been kicked in the guts

Taranaki teachers say they feel they've been kicked in the guts

The Governments' allocating 11 point seven million dollars into an expansion project at Oakura's privately run Green School.

It says the shovel ready project will "secure" 200 jobs in the region.

But, Post Primary Teachers' Association regional chair, Erin MacDonald, says there are plenty of shovel ready projects in state schools that should be prioritised.

She says colleagues across the region and the country are teaching in library's, hallways -- and damp and mouldy rooms.
