Mackenzie Basin locals are anxious - and unsure of what the future holds

A massive scrub fire's been raging across the region since Sunday - burning up more than three-thousand hectares.
At least one home's been destroyed.
The Civil Defence Minister visited the central South Island region today to survey the damage.
Peeni Henare says he's met locals - who've suffered varying property damage - and will be taking their messages to Parliament.
Henare says the person who has lost their house is heartbroken - but is thankful no one was hurt.
A large snow dump today has all but extinguished parts of the blaze near State Highway 80 - but it must remain closed because of the snow on the road.
