It's certainly tough on the body but Scott McLaughlin is enjoying the increased on-track action in Supercars

McLaughlin won the opening race at the second Townsville event to extend his lead atop the championship standings to 143 points.

It's the fourth consecutive weekend the drivers are racing - a complete unknown in a typical season.

McLaughlin says it comes with its benefits.

Racing continues today with qualifying at 11:40am.
