The Bledisloe Cup solution has brought a provincial problem

The Bledisloe Cup solution has brought a provincial problem

Confirmation of the All Blacks-Wallabies tests in New Zealand next month is forcing a rejig for Mitre 10 Cup fixtures.

The October 18 second test is scheduled at the same time as Canterbury host a Ranfurly Shield defence against Waikato - provided Taranaki or Wellington don't nab the log in the meantime.

Canterbury chief executive Tony Smail says they've been talking with NZR about shifting the game to the Saturday, to create a double header with the women's team.

Tiger Woods is preparing for one of golf's toughest tests at this week's US Open.

The Winged Foot Country Club in New York hosts the year's second major.

Woods says only Oakmont and Carnoustie rival the club's West course for difficulty.

One-test Kiwis prop Addin Fonua-Blake has asked for a release from the final two years of his NRL contract with Manly, with the club planning to agree.

The Sea Eagles have confirmed his desire to relocate out of Sydney with his family.

Fonua-Blake's already been linked as a possible Warriors recruit.
