One of New Zealand's oldest aviation companies has two reasons to celebrate today

Mount Cook Ski Planes took flight 65 years ago today - and landed on the first retractable aircraft skis in the world.
The company - which has now flown thousands of visitors from all around the world around Aoraki Mount Cook National Park - has a weekend of festivities planned now New Zealand's back at Alert Level One.
CEO Adam Joyce says they'll be hosting visitors from all over the country.
He says there'll be a community treasure hunt, competitions for the kids - and even flights onto Tasman glacier to enjoy refreshments in the snow.
