    In the absence of overseas competition due to Covid-19, a series of duels should help New Zealand athletes maintain their edge ahead of the delayed Tokyo Olympics


    Women's shot putters Dame Valerie Adams and Maddison-Lee Wesche and men's shot putters Tom Walsh and Jacko Gill form two head-to-head battles.

    Others include pole vaulters Eliza McCartney and Olivia McTaggart, hammer throwers Lauren Bruce and Julia Ratcliffe and sprinters Joseph Millar and Eddie Osei-Nketia .

    Athletics New Zealand high performance director Scott Goodman says it's fortunate ahead of Games selection.
