Police are still looking for information following a car crash in the Waipoua river in Masterton

Police are still looking for information following a car crash in the Waipoua river in Masterton

When police arrived on Sunday, there was nobody inside the vehicle, and they're still not sure what's happened to the driver.

The mystery car is now fully submerged.

Concerns were raised that they may have escaped the car, but then got into trouble in the water.

Access remains dangerous and Police will continue to reassess the situation when the water levels subside.

Police say they have no current reports of any missing people that may be linked to the incident.
