It's been revealed a man who escaped managed isolation after making a rope from bed sheets, was on the loose in Auckland for eight hours before returning to the hotel

The man, who'd been deported from Australia, escaped the Ramada on Federal St at 1am Monday.
He's been viewed on CCTV in the central city, Newmarket, Epsom, Onehunga and Mt Albert, before returning to the facility.
CCTV cameras and extra lighting are being installed at the Ramada - the Covid-19 risk to the public from the escape is said to be low.
