David Tennant thought he and his wife were an "unlikely life partnership" when they first met

The 'Doctor Who' star married Georgia in 2011 but he has confessed that he wasn't sure their relationship would get off the ground at first because he met her whilst she was playing his character's daughter on the BBC science fiction television series

Of their romance, she joked: "I very much forced it into happening, didn't I?"

To which he replied in a joint interview on the That Gaby Roslin Podcast: "That makes it sound like I was resistant, which was not what happened. I thought we were an unlikely life partnership, I suppose. There is a bit of an age gap. Because 'Doctor Who' had run through my life like a stick of rock, to end up marrying the daughter of one of the Doctors, it all felt a bit stupid ... that wasn't really likely to happen. So there were a lot of things against it."

Meanwhile, David admitted he "wasn’t coping at all" after finding fame on ‘Doctor Who’.

The 49-year-old actor said: "The way you imagine it’s going to be is not the way it is at all. It’s much more exposing, and the imaginative leap you’ve had that it will give you status or make you invulnerable is all wrong. It makes you very vulnerable, and very raw.

"I remember way back, when I’d be in a room and someone well known would walk in, and there’s that sort of whisper goes around the room and everyone looks. And you imagine being that person is somehow powerful. When you are that person, you walk into a room and everyone turns their head and whispers, and you feel like you’re being squashed. You feel intimidated, and you feel scared, actually. I wasn’t coping at all, so I sought help from a very lovely older lady who was very calm and normal and just helped me cope with it."
