Adam Brody says being a father of two is “magical”

The 40-year-old actor recently welcomed a second child with his wife, Leighton Meester, and has said his life over the past few months has been “thrilling”, as he’s gotten to spend so much time with his brood - daughter Arlo, five, and a son who’s name has not been made public - due to lockdown

He said: "It's been pretty magical. It’s such a crazy time for everyone and we're so, so, so fortunate that we have some of the security we do and have the flexibility with our jobs we do. We talk about it all the time and we're just ridiculously fortunate and lucky.

“To be more or less quarantined during [this] time - the last trimester of pregnancy and the fourth trimester, if you will - has its benefits. You’ve gotten to be in a cocoon. The world outside is scary for the moment and also thrilling and hopeful.

“For us, luckily in this time in our lives, this moment in our lives, this family growing by one has definitely had its magical moments and it's had its benefits, for sure.”

Adam can already “tell the differences in personality” between his daughter and his son, but doesn’t think raising the two tots has been any different so far.

He added: "There are things my daughter, the way she is now, you retrace it and you go, 'Oh yeah, that was you at six weeks. You had that personality trait.’ Not that you can deduce everything from a two-month-old, but a lot of things carry over, in my experience. We're picking up on differences, for sure, and all good. We're so lucky.”

And ‘The O.C.’ star says his daughter is “very excited” to be a big sister, and admits he and Leighton have loved spending more time as a family over the past few months.

Speaking to People magazine, he said: "With my wife, certainly preoccupied more than usual these last six months, I've even gotten to spend extra time with [Arlo]. It’s been magical, and I'll remember it for the rest of my life."
