    A new mum has been accused of abducting her own baby at Auckland City Hospital


    The mum was followed by a hospital contractor as she carried her newborn son to her car - and was prevented from driving away for 30 minutes.

    Police and security staff attended the scene, and when Police confirmed she'd given birth in October she was able to leave.

    The woman, who is an older mum, says she has filed a harassment complaint with police and the hospital.

    Auckland District Health Board says it understands the encounter will have been unpleasant for the mother and their clinical team is making contact to offer support.
