There is one new case of Covid-19 in the community

There is one new case of Covid-19 in the community

It involves a staff member working in Christchurch's MIQ facility, where international mariners are staying.

The person's routine test on Thursday was negative, but after developing symptoms on Saturday they sought further testing on Sunday, which returned positive yesterday.

Colombo Street Countdown has confirmed the person visited the supermarket on Sunday.

It was closed last night for a deep clean.

The Ministry of Health says the person is in isolation at home.
