Heavy rain and strong northerly gusts could cause power cuts in Auckland today

Heavy rain and strong northerly gusts could cause power cuts in Auckland today

Vector is asking residents to prepare, and to stay away from fallen powerlines and repair crews.

People should ensure they have torches, bottled water and an alternative fuel for cooking available.

As a precaution, additional response crews and storm management teams have been rostered on.

Vector predicts Henderson, Helensville and Warkworth could be the worst affected areas.
