Meghan Trainor says it’s “spooky” being pregnant amid the coronavirus pandemic

The ‘All About that Bass’ hitmaker is currently expecting her first child, a son, with her husband Daryl Sabara, and has said being pregnant during the global health crisis has been tough, because she isn’t sure what the future will hold

She said: “It’s definitely spooky with Covid and quarantining and going to my doctor appointments alone and without my husband because it is safer that way and that is how they run it.

“So it’s been scary and different but we are all healthy and that is all that matters and we are just trying to stay as safe as we can.”

Meghan is due to give birth early next year, and has said she still doesn’t know if she’ll be able to have both her husband and her mother in the delivery room with her when she goes into labour.

She added: “My doctors keep going back and forth.

“They’re like, ‘Yeah you can have two people in the delivery room’ and then they’re like, ‘It might be one now!’ I just hope by February we can have at least two people in the delivery room. I need my momma!”

The 26-year-old singer and her family are supposed to be celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday (26.11.20), but Meghan has cancelled plans because she doesn’t think it’s safe to invite her family over amid the pandemic.

Meghan has also been struggling with gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, so can’t eat the tasty treats she would usually enjoy over the holiday period.

Speaking during an appearance on ‘Lorraine’, she said: I cancelled Thanksgiving this year. I also got diagnosed with gestational diabetes so I can’t really eat all the food I want to eat. I have to write down everything I eat and count my carbs and proteins.

“I figured it’s not safe anyway, let’s just cancel this and save it for Christmas.

“I just know that I am not inviting any outside people. I am only inviting my core family and I am getting them all tested, even though they all live with me.”
