He's stood trial twice for the murder of his wife Laura, who died while the pair were on holiday in British Columbia in 2010.
The first trial ended in a hung jury ... the second resulted in a conviction for first degree murder.
Beckett successfully overturned that conviction in September, and the matter had been due to go to a third trial.
However, the Crown has now announced plans to appeal Beckett's overturned conviction to the Supreme Court of Canada.
