    The Environment Court says the Southland town of Mataura should soon, finally see the removal of ten thousand tonnes of toxic waste


    Residents and groups have been campaigning to remove a hazard substance, known as ouvea pre-mix, from a local warehouse since 2016.

    The toxic substance will be placed in containers suitable for safe and secure storage pending its disposal overseas.

    However this will not be completed by Christmas as previously hoped.
