Twelve hundred shipping containers have recently arrived at Northport, due to massive congestion at the Ports of Auckland.
But now there's a delay to that operation - with Northport stopping container operations yesterday and sending truckies back to Auckland.
National Road Carriers Chief Executive David Aitken claims Northport isn't set up as well as its counterparts.
He says it's the first time they've handled a ship like this - and they were always concerned Northport wouldn't cope.
But Northport has released documents to Newstalk ZB which show the break had been planned since Wednesday.
A spokesperson says it was well-communicated to truckies.
