Former CRI boss investigated for bullying received nearly $300 thousand payout

Tom Richardson stood down as chief executive of Agresearch last October, after nine years in the role.

It came after employment lawyer Maria Dew QC began an investigation into complaints of bullying - at the request of the company's board.

It's unknown whether Richardson was cleared -- or whether his resignation came during the investigation or after it was completed.

Agresearch's annual report shows he received a 'termination payment' of 292-thousand-dollars.

Chairman Dr Paul Reynolds says the payment was consistent with contractual obligations.
