Surprise from within the industry after a new report forecasts a short-term decline in construction activity due to the Covid-19 pandemic

The National Construction Pipeline Report expects a decline in the total value of construction through to 2023, before it starts to recover.
Residential construction activity is predicted to be the hardest hit.
However, Construction Industry Council chair Graham Burke says his members are saying they're really busy at the moment - especially those in the residential sector.
He says they're hearing stories that businesses are booked up for next year and some into the year after.
