Taiwan has reported its first locally transmitted case of COVID-19 since April 12
22 December 2020
Officials say the person is a friend of a New Zealand pilot who was confirmed to have been infected earlier this week, and they are testing more than 100 contacts of the woman.
But our Ministry of Health says it hasn't been contacted by Taiwanese authorities about this case.
It says it would normally be informed if the person was a New Zealand citizen or resident visiting a country or territory and had tested positive for the virus.
