    New Zealand have made a breakthrough in the first hour of day three of the first cricket test against Pakistan at Mt Maunganui


    Abid Ali, after taking a crack on the thumb in the previous over from Kyle Jamieson , has been bowled while stuck on the crease for 25.

    Pakistan are 43 for two, a deficit of 388.

    Azhar Ali has joined nightwatchman Mohammad Abbas at the wicket.

    Abbas is on five from 51 balls.
