Pakistan have moved to 240 for five with 24 overs to go in their pursuit of 373 to win the first test against New Zealand in the final session.
Black Caps pace bowler Kyle Jamieson has secured the breakthrough, dismissing Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan for 60.
He was in a 165-run partnership with Fawad Alam who has scored his second test century, more than 11 years after his first.
Fawad has been joined at the crease by Faheem Ashraf.
