The weather's looking up for regions hard-hit by heavy rain over the weekend

Thunderstorms brought in by a slow-moving low wreaked havoc in the South Island, and parts of the North.
Dunedin, Otago, Canterbury faced flooding and slips -- some roads in Bay of Plenty were also closed.
But MetService forecaster Tuporo Masters predicts the South Island will only get some showers today.
He says there's still a risk of thunderstorms for the middle of the North Island, but only in the afternoon.
