Older members of society are being warned to act their age when in the water this summer

Older members of society are being warned to act their age when in the water this summer

Water Safety New Zealand says the 65 plus age group has had the most preventable drowning fatalities over the last two years.

Spokesperson Ben Christie says Kiwis are staying active longer.

He says some people don't appreciate that age will still catch up with them, and they can't always keep doing activities they once did in the water.
