Ted Danson has paid tribute to his wife Mary Steenburgen saying she is the person he most admires in the whole world

The 73-year-old actor married the 67-year-old actress - famous for her performances in 'Parenthood', 'Elf' and 'Step Brothers' - in 1995 and admits he is still so in love with her that if he could swap sexes and be a woman he would want to be her

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said: "I'm in love. We're in love. That handles a lot. We make each other laugh. I admire her. If I could be a woman, I'd want to be her. We delight in each other. And we're pretty disciplined about being celebratory of what we have."

The pair met on the set of their 1993 movie 'Pontiac Moon' - in which they played husband and wife - and tied the knot two years later.

However, one thing that Ted has trouble with is that Mary tries to help him learn his lines for his sitcom 'Mr. Mayor' but ends up laughing all the way through.

He explained: "You know, she's the worst line runner for our show 'cause she has hysterics and laughs. It takes forever for me to learn anything because she insists on doing all of Holly Hunter's lines, you know, 'cause she thinks they're so funny. So, she's terrible at that."

Ted and the 67-year-old actress recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in October and Mary penned a heart-warming post on Instagram to her husband.

Sharing a snap of the couple, she wrote: "Happy 25th Anniversary! This was SUPPOSED to be a sweet loving anniversary photo but you have a big piece of salad in your teeth. So there it is. Thank you for making me laugh today and every single one of the last 9,125 days.

"You are the goofiest, wisest, kindest, dreamboat in the world. True, that is a big ass piece of salad but even that doesn’t mar your legendary beauty. I can’t believe how lucky I am. Happy Anniversary, Ted. Love, Mary."
