More new homes are being built in New Zealand now, than at any point in almost half a century

New Stats NZ figures show almost 38-thousand new homes were consented in the year to last November -- up 4.2 percent on the year to November 2019.

Building consents reached record levels in Auckland, Hawke's Bay and Taranaki.

The number of new homes in the North Island also reached the highest point since records began in March 1991.
