    Emily Andre found it "really challenging" having a daughter when she was 24

    The doctor was in her early 20s when she had her first child with her husband Peter Andre and she admits it was "hard at times" being a young mother as she opened up about the stigma


    She shared: "Stacey Solomon says she felt 'ashamed' when she fell pregnant at 17 and people would give her 'looks'. Unfortunately, I think the stigma around being a young mum can still exist, but it’s wrong and nobody should judge you for the age you decide to have children.

    "We need to support young mums. I was 24 when I had Millie, which I still count as quite young. That was hard at times, too. It’s really challenging and the last thing you need is people giving you dirty looks! Thankfully, I had a positive experience."

    However, Emily - who has Amelia, seven, and Theodore, four, with her spouse Peter - thinks attitudes to young mothers have only changed "relatively recently".

    Writing in her OK! magazine column, she said: "I think that only a few generations ago people became parents much younger, and it’s only relatively recently that attitudes have changed."

    Meanwhile, Emily previously admitted she wants to have two more children in the next three years.

    Speaking in June last year, the 31-year-old medic said: "With Theo going to school in September, it gives us a year to think about so we have plenty of time. The kids never really ask about having another sibling but I guess there's already four of them and we have a busy household! I also don't worry about disrupting the family dynamic because I'm from a big family and so is Pete, it would obviously change, but you still try and give each child the same amount of time and love."
