68 year old Maia Tirikatene was working a night shift at the Edgeware Rd BP last May -- when the 20-year-old viciously attacked her.
The man pleaded guilty to assault and theft charges in November.
The court heard he'd taken an illicit drug and was suffering from automatism -- and acted unconsciously during the attack.
Judge David Saunders has granted a discharge without conviction - subject to the man engaging with the Tirikatene family through the Restorative Justice process -- and paying reparation to his victim.
