New research suggests certain science students aren't being identified

A study done by Otago University reveals that students with high ability in science may not show up on teacher's radars because they can also have low English and maths scores.

Otago University Associate Professor Azra Moeed says that students can excel at science despite low scores.

She says students with special needs may miss out if they aren't picked up.

She says that just because a student has dyslexia doesn't mean they can't enjoy science.
