Tourism operators in the Wakatipu Basin are heading to breaking point, with no sign of borders opening any time soon.
Queenstown Lakes District mayor, Jim Boult, is pushing central government for some kind of industry support.
Chief pilot at Air Milford, Antony Sproull , says his business is in survival mode.
He says closed borders means a loss of 95 per cent of their market.
Sproull says he's had to slash prices by almost 50 cent to get Kiwis on seats.
