A local says they've found something suspicious -- near a contaminated water supply

Residents in the townships of Akaroa and Takamatua are boiling their drinking water -- after dead animals were found in a nearby reservoir.

ZB caller, Dave, says he spotted cyanide warnings near the water that feeds the contaminated reservoir.

He says the cyanide bait was within walking distance of the water -- and he suspects animals are eating the bait and dying in the water -- and the contamination trickling down.
