Tropical cyclone activity in the Pacific has put a bender on autumn weather

Niwa's seasonal climate outlook is projecting a mix of warm days and cold snaps over the next couple of months.
Patches of rain are expected in the North Island - greatly relieving parts having a dry spell.
The South Island's expected to gradually grow wetter, but meteorologist Ben Noll says it's still a bit up in the air.
He says there will be Summer-like periods, and times that feel like May - in a bit of a weather rollercoaster.
