Residents in Auckland's Flat Bush are in shock after a body was discovered in a burning car

Residents in Auckland's Flat Bush are in shock after a body was discovered in a burning car

Emergency services rushed to the blaze at Barry Curtis Park just after 8 last night.

A wide Police cordon remains in place this morning.

New Zealand Herald reporter Chelsea Boyle has been at the scene -- and says locals were upset to learn why police were there.

She says many residents had emphasised it was a safe area and nothing like this had happened before.
