A spike in trucks crashing into train bridges is a costly problem for Kiwirail

The main line for the country's freight network was forced close last Friday, after being struck by a truck carrying a digger.
Kiwirail reports in the past 12 months -- vehicles have hit rail bridges a staggering 29 times.
Its Chief Operating Officer says every time this happens, repairs have to be carried out, which can take weeks.
Todd Moyle says worst of all, motorists aren't reporting the accidents.
He says whether its minor or not, someone needs to check it, because a train could run over it and have an incident.
