A National Party MP has labelled the government's approach to community iwi panels as 'soft on crime and putting communities in danger

The panels can be employed instead of sending suspects to the courts.
National's spokesperson for police, Simeon Brown, says the government has the wrong priorities.
Mr Brown says the government is focused on reducing the number of prisoners rather than keeping communities safe.
