Queenstown's Mayor is struggling with the injustice of tourist operators being denied a bailout

Queenstown's Mayor is struggling with the injustice of tourist operators being denied a bailout

Jim Boult says dairy farmers would've had Government assistance a long time ago, but tourist businesses are treated differently.

He says they've asked the Government for a trans-Tasman bubble after having no luck seeking an assistance package.

Mr Boult says the dairy industry would never be asked to kill off its herd if milk powder couldn't be exported, and then start a new one.

He says this is what's happening in the tourist industry.
