    A pleasant surprise for Black Caps batsman Mark Chapman


    He's been brought into the side as batting cover for Ross Taylor for the first one day cricket international against Bangladesh on Saturday in Dunedin.

    Taylor has been ruled out with a small tear in his left hamstring.

    Taylor sustained the injury while fielding on the final day of Central Districts' Plunket Shield victory over Wellington on Sunday in Napier.

    Chapman says the call from coach Gary Stead was unexpected, but he's happy to be back in the Black Caps environment.
