Police in the lower South Island are alarmed by how many drink drivers were caught over the weekend

From Friday to Sunday hundreds of motorists were tested at checkpoints.
Twenty four had excess breath levels ... with more than 400 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath.
Police spokesperson Amelia Steel says one person arrested by Queenstown Police was four times over the legal limit.
She says that's disappointing, and police will be out in force across the south over Easter Weekend.
