Lakes District Health Board's teamed up with Te Arawa and Ngati Tuwharetoa.
Chief Operating Officer Alan Wilson says engaging with vulnerable Maori and Pasifika is incredibly important.
He says their Maori health team, local providers and iwi are all working together with the population.
An immunisation hub opened in central Rotorua last week with a karakia.
More than 600 MIQ workers in Rotorua and their families have had a first dose of the Pfizer jab.
Immunisations start soon in Taupo for household contacts of MIQ and frontline workers.
