Mark Joseph Hoggart and another man -- who has name suppression -- have been found guilty of the 1987 aggravated robbery of the tavern and the murder of its owner, Christopher Bush.
In the seven-week trial, the Crown argued they were the two heavily disguised robbers who burst in through a back door of the Maramarua Tavern on Labour Weekend.
It was alleged the unnamed accused fired a sawn-off shotgun.
The Crown alleged they killed Bush, tied up his three staff members, and stole just over 36-thousand dollars in cash.
