A High Court judge has sided with 80 plaintiffs' civil action against Christchurch Adventure Park after the 2017 conflagration.
They deemed the company negligent and financially responsible -- after staff left the chairlift running while the fire raged in the 365-hectare adventure park.
Plastic lift chairs caught alight and dripped molten plastic on dry pine areas, sparking spot blazes.
Five homeowners won settlements between 1.18 and 3.84 million dollars -- with varying compensation for the rest.
