Sir Ron Brierley added to New South Wales' child protection register
Sir Ron Brierley will be added to New South Wales' child protection register after pleading guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material in Sydney
1 April 2021
The 83-year-old ex-pat Kiwi businessman has pleaded guilty to three charges this morning.
The material was found when the multimillionaire was stopped at a Sydney Airport in December 2019, and in a search of his waterfront Sydney mansion.
A police prosecutor dropped 14 other child abuse material charges after Sir Ron's plea.
There's a dispute over the number of images he had.
The case is set down for a fresh hearing on April 30, although it's unclear if the Wellington-born investor will be sentenced then.
