Police officers have the right not to be abused

That's the message from the Police Association President.
Two officers were injured last night when they were attacked with a baseball bat at a routine traffic stop in Hamilton.
Police Association President Chris Cahill says people need to face consequences when they assault officers.
He says we can't let small crimes slide, because left unanswered they can escalate.
