A magnitude 6.1 earthquake has struck off the east coast of the North Island
5 April 2021
The quake stuck just after 7.30 tonight, 120 kilometres east of Te Araroa, and had a depth of 22 kilometres.
More than seven thousand people have reported to have felt it on Geonet... the majority calling it weak to light.
