A child remains in intensive care after a boat flipped in Otago, killing another child

A family of five were on board the small craft when it capsized, as it tried to cross the Taieri Mouth bar on Saturday.

Two separate investigations have been launched - by Maritime New Zealand and police, on behalf of the Coroner.

Police say they're supporting the family at the centre of the tragedy.
