Sticky fingers seem to be targeting fuel and car batteries in Hawke's Bay

Police have seen a rise in in thefts from orchards, commercial businesses and rural properties, in recent weeks.
Fuel and and heavy-duty vehicle batteries seem to be favoured, and police are investigating a number of cases.
Acting Detective Sergeant Steve Leonard says owners need to take precautions.
He says people should be vigilant and ensure their farm equipment and commercial vehicles are locked out of sight
