Fire and Emergency has a house fire in Tawa under control

Fire and Emergency has a house fire in Tawa under control

Four fire engines and two support vehicles were called out to the blaze on Main Street just after midday, closing the road between Linden Avenue and McLellan Street.

A fire and emergency spokesperson says all the people in the home have been accounted for and no injuries have been reported.

Motorist in the area Jinita Hales says the building looked pretty buggered - the road is blocked and there's a lot of smoke surrounding the street.
