    Fire crews are working to protect a house from a hay barn fire in Winslow, near Ashburton


    Fire and Emergency spokesperson Mau Barbara says six fire engines are in attendance.

    He says 16 firefighters are battling a blaze with one large hay barn, along with three hay stacks.

    Crews are protecting a house and a shelter belt.
